OVER 30 YEARS
IN THE MAKING

From its humble beginnings over 30 years ago in a small workshop in East London, Chalk-Air grew into three branches, now located in Cape Town, East London and Mthatha. The Schonknecht family subscribe to service excellence, and this is not only a buzz phrase at Chalk-Air, but manifests into all we do – the modern and clean workshop areas, updated equipment and enthusiastic staff.

In 2017, Chalk-Air celebrated their 30th year in business, testimony to our professionalism, unwavering search for excellence and incredible business relationships with supportive and loyal clients.

Although Chalk-Air Eastern Cape and Chalk-Air Western Cape operate autonomously as separate entities they no doubt continue the legacy left by Chalky and Lorraine Schonknecht of service excellence and quality product.

Mechanics Team

Knowledge is power - along with our machines, our Mechanics Team have both. With Thomas leading the team, reliability and customer productivity are always top of mind.

Quality Team

The Quality Team is meticulously led by Ralph, ensuring that the Fleet is constantly maintained to meet the high level of quality and excellence instilled in the Chalk-Air WC legacy.

A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS

Ken and Liesel Prentis bought into Chalk-Air WC as a couple, seeing the potential of the 30+-year-old legacy that was built on Chalky’s drive, attention to detail and astute business acumen all of which were instilled in his daughter Liesel. Together, Ken and Liesel form a formidable and passionate partnership along with their skilled and dedicated team.
